The technologies behind the cloud are changing the way that we connect the Internet at the most fundamental level, through Software Defined Interconnection (SDI). OSv enables IIX to run lightweight, easy-to-manage guest OSs for each interconnection, and use the OpenDaylight APIs to configure each one appropriately.
Come see OSv at the sold-out Amazon re:Invent show in Las Vegas. Demos will be available at booth K14, along with the opportunity to win a Raspberry Pi multimedia kit instantly.
OSv “Aspen” is the first of a series of closed Beta releases of OSv. OSv is a new lightweight OS, designed from the ground up to run in a virtual cloud environment, with maximum performance, low latency, and simple management. This release focuses on stability, management and ease of use.
The closed beta program will provide individual help for companies deploying OSv. (Open source builds for independent use are always available as well.)

Yes. You've heard it right: for the first time ever we can stop asking the question of how much performance would I lose if
I virtualize. OSv lets you ask a different question: how much would my application gain in performance if I virtualize it. This
talk will start by looking into the architecture of OSv and the kind of optimizations it makes possible for native, unmodified
applications. We will then focus on JVM-specific optimizations and specifically on speedups available to ASF projects when they
are deployed on OSv.
Coming to ApacheCon Europe on November 19. Read more...
